Paint wins on flexibility and cost — it's quicker to change, easier to touch up, and usually cheaper per square foot. It's our default recommendation for large wall areas and rental properties.
Wallpaper wins on character. Texture, pattern and depth are hard to replicate with paint alone, which is why we recommend it for accent walls, powder rooms, and spaces where you want a strong first impression.
Durability depends heavily on the room. Bathrooms and kitchens need moisture-resistant vinyl wallpaper or a washable paint finish — standard wallpaper will peel in humid conditions within a year.
Our rule of thumb: paint the rooms you'll repaint often — kids' rooms, hallways, rooms that see heavy wear — and reserve wallpaper for spaces where the wall itself is meant to be a feature, not just a backdrop.
